Chronological is a sorting method where items are arranged by their occurrence in time. In most cases, these items a separated by specific dates or time of day within a date. The picture is an example of files listed in chronological order in the Microsoft Windows File Explorer. In this example, like most file management systems files can be arranged in chronological order by clicking “date” or “date modified” column header.
