Bootstrap is a framework for designing and developing the front end of websites. Using Bootstrap’s preset HTML, CSS, and JavaScript components, a web designer can create responsive, mobile-first websites that are compatible with a wide array of browsers and devices.
Originally called Twitter Blueprint, Bootstrap was first developed in 2011 by a team at Twitter led by Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton. Bootstrap is free and open-source, with its source code published on GitHub.
