Bitcoin Cash or BCH is a cryptocurrency traded on several digital currency exchanges, including Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Gemini. The name “bitcoin cash” was proposed in July 2018 by ViaBTC, a group of cryptocurrency miners. Technically, it is a hard fork, or clone, of the bitcoin cryptocurrency. It was officially “born” on August 1, 2017, when the first block was created. Anyone owning bitcoin at that time automatically received an equal amount of bitcoin cash.
As of August 1, 2018, its one-year birthday, one bitcoin cash is valued at about $766, and the total market cap value of bitcoin cash is over $12 million.
