Wave may refer to any of the following:

  1. Alternatively called a waveform, a wave is the signal pattern, such as that generated by sound, that changes at regular intervals. Below is an example of an oscilloscope sine wave with descriptions of each of the wave components. The wave is a line that moves up and down and represents a frequency. The higher the frequency, the smaller the wavelength, and the lower the frequency, the greater the wavelength.
