A spin box or spin button is a form field enabling users to increase or decrease the number value in the text field by a specific increment (often by 1, 5 or 10). Up and down arrow buttons are provided in the spin box to adjust the number. Many software programs feature one or more spin buttons for various functionality, including the adjustment of margins and other page configuration settings, usually for printing purposes. Spin buttons are also created for use on web pages. Below is an example of some spin buttons found in Microsoft Excel, on the Page Setup window.

The example shows that a user can press the up or down arrows on the right side of the text box to increase or decrease the value.
