A slot-load disc drive is a disc drive with no caddy or tray and allows the computer user to insert the disc into a thin slit. The picture shows an example of a slot-loading disc drive on the side of an Apple iMac computer. If no eject button is visible next to the slot, the disc may only be removed from the computer using the operating system.
