When referring to RTS computer games, a rush is a strategy where one player devotes all resources toward achieving a specific goal very quickly. It aims to use the element of surprise for a strong early game, but sacrifices a strong late game if the strategy fails. A classic example of a rush strategy is the 9-pool Zerg rush in StarCraft II. (Zerg rush strategies are so infamous that the word “zerg” is often used, even in other video games, as a synonym for “rush”.)
