Pull may refer to any of the following:

  1. With Git, pull is a term that describes downloading the files in a remote repository to your local Git repository. In contrast, you would push when you were ready to send your updates.

  2. In MMO games, players may fight against creatures in the game, to be rewarded with currency or items from the defeated creature. A player is said to pull the creature when they begin attacking. They are in essence “pulling” the creature to them, to attack the creature at a closer distance. Pulling is done so creatures focus their attacks on one player, often a tank, who can take damage. Healers in the group can then focus their healing without getting attacked while everyone else in the group assists in killing the pulled creatures. Handling the enemies properly is known as CC (crowd control).
