Introduced by Hewlett Packard, Nibble Mode is an interface that allows devices to use and reuse the four lines of Compatibility Mode for data while transmitting data four bits at a time. Nibble Mode functions with most IEEE-1284 Centronics interfaces and is generally used for enhanced printer status.
