Nettop is a term coined by Intel to describe an inexpensive desktop computer, often ranging between $250 and $600. Since these computers are cheaper due to having limited parts, they are a great solution for users who only need something for Internet access and word processing.

Nettops often use some variant of Linux and use only an SSD for storage. The picture shows a Linutop, a great example of a nettop computer.
