Alternatively called T-Flash or TransFlash, MicroSD is a small removable flash memory card that was first developed by SanDisk and approved as a standard on July 13, 2005. MicroSD are the smallest removable flash memory cards, range in available sizes of 128 MB to 4 GB, and often used with cell phones.

Some laptops feature a MicroSD slot built into the front or side edge, allowing you to insert a MicroSD card and download pictures or other files onto the laptop. If your laptop does not have a MicroSD slot, or you have a desktop computer, you can use a media card reader. This device enables you to view the files on the MicroSD card, and download them to your computer.
