A Google Doodle refers to an artistic expression of Google’s logo on its search engine homepage. Google often creates a Google Doodle to commemorate a noteworthy figure’s birthday, a holiday, an anniversary, or another significant event. A Google Doodle is often comprised of a conglomeration of pictures, animation, and the Google logo. Some Google Doodles are even interactive and contain videos.
The first Google Doodle was created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin on August 20, 1998, to commemorate the Burning Man Festival of that year that they both attended. The doodle was meant to remind Google users that they were absent. Google Doodles are created to commemorate events such as the birthdays, holidays, and other days such as Earth Day and International Worker’s Day.
