A gimbal is a camera accessory that acts as both a grip and a stabilizer. The purpose of a gimbal is to help a camera create stable footage, while still being able to move the camera freely. Gimbals use gyroscope technology to keep the camera suspended at the same orientation, while being swiveled or panned. Gimbals come in the form of single-handed, monopod style grips, or larger mounts that require two hands to operate.
