Gig may refer to any of the following:
Gig is an abbreviation for gigabyte.
A gig is a job that only lasts for a short time or as long as the company feels it’s needed. For example, a company may need someone who can create a web page but doesn’t need a full-time employee. The gig would for a set amount or hourly until the job is complete.
Many people classify our economy as a “gig economy” because more and more companies are only hiring people for gigs instead of full-time employees. A good example of where someone could buy and perform gigs is on a service like Fiverr.
