A cell style may refer to any of the following:

  1. In Microsoft Excel, cell style refers to the various appearances that can be applied to a cell, or the text contained within it. Some style elements include background color of the cell, border style for the cell, font type, font size, bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, and others.

  2. In web development, an HTML table can have different cell styles applied to them through the use of CSS. These cells can include many of the same styles as are applicable with Microsoft Excel and other features for changing the style of a cell.
