A caddy is a container that is used to hold various items or objects. For example, the picture is of a CD-ROM caddy, a container used with early Apple computer CD-ROM drives that would hold and protect the disc. Discs would enter the computer only after being placed into a caddy, rather than inserted using a tray or disc slot. Today, the CD-ROM caddy is rarely used or found with computers.
