Playback has not been prompted

To record sounds that are made by the user or the device, press the record button and play music with the device on. When done, press the stop button, followed by the play button. This will engage the music that has been previously recorded by the user.

Microphone is not recording

To record the user’s voice, have the base of the microphone positioned correctly towards the user’s face when in record mode. Poor positioning can cause the music to drown out the user’s singing. Another issue that may cause this difficulty is the amount of noise made by the device may be too much for the device to pick up the user’s voice. To fix this, make sure the volume level of the microphone is turned up enough to record the user’s voice.

Too much background noise/interference

Interference and/or loud noises may cause difficulty for the device to pick up the sound made by the user. Make sure all background noises are at a minimum, and properly position the device toward the user to have premium playback quality. Also make sure all of the desired levels for each sound type are turned up enough to the user’s satisfaction.

Batteries have not been properly installed and/or device is not turned on

To record music and/or singing, make sure the batteries are properly installed (with negatives and positives positioned correctly) and turn the device on. After this, follow above instructions in last section (Playback has not been prompted) to use the device as usual.

Loose part

Make sure that all pieces of the device (screws, buttons, moving pieces) are in the correct position, free of any damage, and operate normally. If one of the parts does not follow these guidelines, consider replacing that particular part.

Debris/Unnecessary Item

After checking all of the parts to make sure they are all in working condition, search the device for any loose crumbs or areas where extra debris may enter the inside of the console. The noise may be caused by some sort of outside item that may have found it’s way passed the plastic shell, into the center of the device.

Needs new battery

First check if the batteries are positioned correctly and then check if you can hear music. If not replace the batteries in the correct position.

The speaker needs to be replaced

If you know the device is on already and not playing music when pressing any button the speaker needs to be replaced.

The volume button isn’t in a position that you can hear the music

Slide the volume button all the way up when on to hear the music at its loudest.

Device is not on

Press the on/off button to make sure that it is on.

Device not turned on /turned off properly

If trying to turn on, make sure the on/off button is pressed prior to using device.

If lights are still on and trying to turn off, make sure the on/off button is pressed. Try holding the on/off button down for 5-10 seconds on the device to see if this changes anything on the device. Consider removing the batteries for 60 seconds to completely disconnect the device.

Batteries not put in correctly

The +- on the batteries are aligned properly according to the device. Batteries are 2 AA batteries. Double check for any corrosion, debris, or anything getting in the way of the connection from the battery to the device in the holder.

Batteries not put in yet

This device requires two AA batteries. Do not assume that these will be provided. Make sure everything is aligned and in place.

Batteries are low and the light is just very dim

If the lights on toy are dim, put in two new AA batteries as the batteries are just about used up or are old.

Something small is stuck at the edge of the key/button

If the there is something small like a crumb at the edge it could be preventing the key or button from depressing all the way so the light won’t come on. You take a can of air and blow off the button or key. Should you not have a can air you can use the hose on a vacuum cleaner and run it along the edges. Once the stuck item is removed the key or button should light up.

The device may be dirty

If the toy is well loved you may need to clean off the buttons and/or keys to get rid of the buildup of dirt or something might have been spilt on it. It is easiest to clean this product by take a cleaning wipe to it such as clorox and wiping off each key or button. Do not use a spray product as that could under the keys and effect the electrical components. Never submerge the toy in water to clean it.
