  • Obtain the black plastic spudger tool from the iFixit toolkit. Position the device as shown in the picture. Insert the flat end of the spudger directly in the space above the power button between the back cover and front screen.

Step 2

  • Gently pry up on the plate with the spudger. You may hear some cracking noises as you work the spudger around your device, this is normal.

  • Pry around the edges of the tablet with your fingers until you have successfully removed the back of the device.

              Top Speaker + WIFI Antenna               
  • During this step, avoid pulling on the red and black wires as they can be easily damaged. Instead, grab only the plug itself.
  • Use the tweezers to grab the power plug connected to the red and black wires. Disconnect the plug by pulling the tweezers away from the device.

Step 5

  • Place the flat end of the black plastic spudger under the locking tab that holds the tail end of the black ribbon in place. Pry upwards unlocking the tail of the black ribbon. Use the tweezers to remove the black ribbon from the plug.

Step 6

  • Remove the three 3mm screws holding the WIFI antennae in the device. Use the tweezers to grab and remove the metal plate securing the antennae.
  • Two of the screws are silver, while one is black.

Step 7

  • Remove the WIFI antennae from the device and replace.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
