The device will not charge.
If a working Micro-USB cable is plugged into the tablet and it does not charge, the Micro-USB port may be failed. The tablet can be charged using the charging base or the Micro-USB port can be replaced.
Ensure power adapter is plugged in and correctly inserted into the tablet. If the tablet does not charge but can be charged by plugging the USB end of the cord into a laptop or similar device the power adapter may be failed. Consider purchasing a replacement adapter.
Place tablet on charging base. If the tablet doesn’t charge then try plugging in a working Micro-USB cord to the Micro-USB port. If the device begins to charge then the charging base is faulty. Replacement may be necessary, or you can choose to use a Micro-USB cord to charge the tablet.
Try charging the tablet with a charging cord you know works. If it still does not charge the battery may need to be replaced. Or, if both the charging base and the Micro-USB cord do not successfully charge the tablet, the battery probably needs replacing.
The device is producing reduced audio output, or has stopped producing it at all.
If the volume control is not working via the volume buttons, try using the touch screen interface to change the volume. If that is ineffective, you may have a faulty speaker. If the interface does work, your volume buttons have failed and you may consider replacing them.
If the volume and source of audio are changed but no sound is produced by the tablet the speaker assembly may be faulty. Consider replacing the speaker assembly with this guide.
The device’s screen will not respond to touch.
Try powering the tablet off and rebooting it. To do this, hold down the power button (top left of the tablet) a screen will pop up giving you the option to power off the device or reboot. Select the reboot option. Wait about 10 seconds before powering the device back on.
Be sure the device is charged. If the screen is still unresponsive it may need to be replaced.
The device is not connected to WiFi and web applications will not load.
Ensure the wifi connection is enabled and that your modem and router are also working. On the tablet go to settings and select Wi-Fi under the wireless & networks tab, from there select which connection you want to use. If this does not work but other devices are connected to the network try resetting the tablet. To do this, select the settings application from the home screen. Scroll down to the personal tab and select backup & reset, under personal data select factory data reset, then reset tablet. If the device still can not connect to the wireless network a wireless component of the tablet may be defective. Consider replacing the components that enable wireless on the tablet.
The device cannot be unlocked.
If you have forgotten the unlock code there are two options. You can login to your google device manager, the same account initially used to set up your device. Then go to Google Find My Device and select the tablet and erase all content from the tablet. Another way to solve this issue is by issuing a factory reset. To do this, select the settings application from the home screen. Scroll down to the personal tab and select Backup & Reset, under personal data select factory data reset, then Reset Tablet.
If the tablet turns on when charged but the screen can not be turned on or off using the power button, the button may be failed. Consider replacing the power button.
