Try as you might, you cannot fit the headset adapter into your Xbox One controller.
Unfortunately, some headset adapters come fresh out of the box with misaligned prongs, so they will not fit in an Xbox One controller no matter how hard you try. If this is the case, contact the retailer at which the headphones were purchased or Turtle Beach in order to find a replacement.

A replacement may be necessary. However if an individual would like to attempt to repair this problem themselves, the wire type, length, and solder instructions will be provided with easy-to-follow illustrations. NOTE: warranty may be voided if attempted.

The headset is compatible with a wide range of consoles. A list of compatible consoles is provided. If the problem continues, another problem may be occurring.
