“My speaker is plugged in, but it doesn’t turn on.”
Make sure that your speaker is connected to a working plug.
Check the connections between the speaker and the power adapter to make sure it’s well connected.
If you’re using a surge protector, make sure it works properly.
If the speaker still doesn’t turn on, it could be caused by a defective power adapter. As a result, you may have to buy a new one.
Make sure to use the power adapter that comes with the speaker at the moment of purchase, since other adapters may not be compatible.
“The battery is charged, but my speaker still doesn’t turn on.”
If your speaker is not charged or not used in a period of 14 days, it will enter a protection mode. To fix this setting, you must reconnect the speaker to the outlet.
If the battery is defective, you may need to replace it. Click on this link to see how to replace the battery: Bose SoundLink Mini Battery Replacement.
Another underlying issue could be the charging. Make sure the battery has enough charge re-plugging it again in the outlet.
“The bluetooth indicator shows a connection, but my music is not playing when I start it”
While the SoundLink Mini indicates a connection with your device, the device could still have not been paired. Check your bluetooth settings to see if you device is connected via bluetooth to the SoundLink Mini.
The devices have transport controls that allow it to play audio, if these controls are not configured to play the audio, no sound will be emitted from the SoundLink Mini.
If you have other devices that currently use bluetooth, turn them off with the speaker and the device you are trying to pair it with. Once everything is turned off, you should only turn on the speaker and the device you intend to pair.
Another possible issue could be the volume of the SoundLink Mini is way too low, or even silenced. Try to adjust the volume correctly to see if this is the issue or not.
If the volume of the speaker is set to an audible level, check to see if the device you paired it with has its volume set properly as well.
“My speaker is not playing any audio from my device.”
Verify that the SoundLink Mini is not silenced and that the volume is adjusted to a desired level. You should also verify that the SoundLink Mini is indicating a connection with the desired device you intend to pair with.
The device you are using should also show a connection. Make sure that the device is connected to the SoundLink Mini via Bluetooth and that it is playing audio at a desired level.
Another problem could be that the device is out of reach of the SoundLink Mini’s bluetooth signal. Move the device closer to the speaker’s reach to make sure it’s working.
As a final reserve, turn off your SoundLink Mini and turn it back on.
There are times where other devices can generate electromagnetic interferences that can interrupt the bluetooth signal. Move those devices away from the SoundLink Mini and from your device to be able to connect it. The external devices can include: Ovens, Microwaves, Smartphones, Network Routers, and other bluetooth devices.
If there are other external devices that use bluetooth connections, turn them off or deactivate their bluetooth functions.
“I can’t pair my bluetooth device with the speaker.”
Make sure you are using the most recent software from your SoundLink Mini speaker. Visit the support center at https://www.bose.com/support.html and find the most recent update. If the software is already updated, it is possible you may have to product reset. This can be done in the following easy steps:
On the speaker, hold the silence button for 10 seconds, the LEDs will blink for a few seconds.
Then, press the button that turns on your speaker, to turn it back on.
Many devices with bluetooth have an option where the bluetooth function can be activated or deactivated. It can be turned off to save your device’s battery. Make sure this option is activated. If the speaker is paired with your bluetooth device, it should automatically connect when the bluetooth function is activated. If the speaker doesn’t connect automatically, manually select it from your device’s bluetooth list.
Some devices may be paired with other devices, but don’t connect automatically. Look at the bluetooth list and check. If that’s the case, try to manually connect to your SoundLink Mini.
If that doesn’t help, you may have to clean up your pairing list with these easy steps:
ON the speaker, hold the bluetooth button for 10 seconds until you hear a noise. The speaker will erase all devices from its memory it has previously connected to, and can be discoverable.
Delete the list from your bluetooth device. For more information, consult the manufacturer for more technical support for your speaker.
If this doesn’t help, try to pair the device in the following steps:
With your bluetooth device and speaker both turned on, hold the bluetooth button from your speaker for three seconds to make it discoverable. The bluetooth indicator will slowly turn on and off to show it is discoverable.
On the device, locate the bluetooth list and select “Bose SoundLink”.
If your device is asking for a code, enter the digits 0000 and press OK. Some devices will ask you to accept the connection. Your bluetooth device will indicate to you when it has completed the pairing process. The SoundLink Mini will also indicate to you when it has completed the pairing process when the bluetooth indicator stops turning on and off, and stays on.
The system is designed to operate at a range of 30 feet. Performance may be diminished by obstacles like walls or metal, and can also be affected by other bluetooth devices. Try to get your bluetooth device closer to the SoundLink Mini .
