My mouse does not interact with the computer screen, or show any red light on the top of the mouse.

There should be a red light emitting from a clear button located on the top of the mouse. If it is not on, your mouse is not turned on. This is usually fixed by restarting your computer. If restarting your computer does not help, you might have a dead battery.

The most likely reason why the mouse does not turn on is because the AA battery inside the mouse are dead. To replace the battery, please refer to the repair guide Replacing the Battery.

My mouse can successfully connect to a computer and interact with the icons on the screen but the red light is not emitting from the clear button on the top of the mouse.

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the red light is still not showing, continue to the next step.

Sometimes it is the light source itself that needs to be replaced. The light that emits the red glow is called an LED, refer to the guide replace the LED for more information.

The red light is illuminating the DPI (Dots Per Inch) button. The button’s function is to change the sensitivity of the mouse with reference to its movement on the screen. It has three settings: slow, medium, and fast. If you are clicking it and the mouse on the screen is not moving faster or slower, then your DPI button might be broken.

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the DPI button is still not working, continue to the next step.

If the DPI button is still not working after restarting your computer then you have a faulty or broken DPI button. No worries, please refer to the guide replace the DPI button to replace it. This should solve your problem!

Sometimes the problem with the mouse is it is dirty. The dirt it picks up after use can block the sensor on the bottom of the mouse. It can also make the mouse hard to move around. To clean your mouse, take a q-tip and scrub along the bottom of the mouse until it is free of debris.

Another large problem is the sensor could be broken. Do not worry, this can be replaced! Please refer to Replace Mouse Sensor to fix it.

Lastly, your USB connector might be faulty. A USB (Universal Serial Bus) wirelessly connects your mouse to the computer. All mouses have different identities which are called ‘Drivers’. When you plug the USB into your computer, the computer quickly downloads the driver specific to your mouse. Sometimes all you need to do is re-download the driver which can be done by following this link: Re-download My Driver and clicking ‘Driver’ under downloads. If that does not work, try cleaning the USB ports. To do so, lightly rub a q-tip around the entrance of the chip. If it still does not work, then the actual USB port is broken. This can be replaced as well by buying a new chip.
