Step 1
Rear Wheel
- Stand behind your bike straddling the rear wheel and locate the brake calipers.
- To lessen the tension on the brake wire, place one hand on each caliper and push them towards one another.

Step 2
- Unhook the brake wire in the metal tube from the brake wire holder on the caliper in your left hand.

- Find the quick release lever located on the wheel’s fork.
- Open the leaver 180 degrees from the locked position.
- Spin the lever counterclockwise a few turns to loosen the pin while holding the opposite of the pin.

Step 4
- Pull the bike frame upward off the wheel fork to separate it from the rear wheel.
- Remove the bottom chain from around the rear cassette on the wheel.

Step 5
- In reassembly, lay the top chain on the lowest gear on the rear cassette. Then follow the steps in reverse order beginning with step 3.
