When you press the power button, neither screen nor computer will power on.

This can be done by looking at the bottom of the computer in the back and pull the two clips on the sides and it should come right out. Then insert the battery back in place and try to turn on your computer

Laptop will power off after a certain time or not turn on at all.

Check for dust in the fan, located on the bottom of the laptop. The Toshiba Tecra M11 can overheat because of an unnecessary amount of dust stuck in the fan, causing the fan to lose its cooling power. In order to be able fix this, you have the option of doing two things: Get a compressed air duster to blow it out or take the laptop apart an clean it.

The monitor appears frozen and won’t react to any action taken using the touchpad or keyboard.

Hold down Fn and press f9 to see if touchpad was previously turned off. Test touchpad. If touchpad doesn’t work, hold down Fn and click f9 again to turn it back on.

Remove the battery & unplug the wall cord from the Laptop. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Reinsert the battery and reconnect laptop to wall cord. Then, try to restart the laptop.
