If your Toshiba Satellite S55t-C5225 optical drive does not read CD’s/DVD’s or open, then the optical drive may be damaged and needs to be replaced. Follow this replacement guide.

To upgrade your software start by opening Windows Update by clicking the Start button in the lower left corner. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click either Windows Update or Check for updates. Click the Check for Updates button and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. If there is an update click Install and follow the on-screen instructions.

Screen display is blurry, discolored, and sometimes does not respond to commands.
If laptop is freezing frequently, perform a hard reset of the laptop. To do this hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the laptop restarts.
