There is a loud rattling noises when the device is powered on.
The fan may be dirty, this can be seen as lint or dust on the fan itself. Consider taking out the fan and cleaning it with compressed air and returning it to its proper housing.
The fan could also be damaged or not working properly. Check for rattling or no movement of the fan. Consult our guide on how to replace the fan.
The device is not responsive and does not power on.
Plug in the adapter and make sure the light comes on. If there is no light indication, the adapter may be damaged, consider buying a new adapter. If the problem continues it may be an issue with the battery.
Plug in your device to a wall outlet using the adapter without the battery plugged in. If the device works properly with just the power from the adapter, the battery may be faulty. Using a voltmeter to check the voltage out of the battery terminals can also be done to check for proper battery function. Consult our guide on how to replace the battery.
If the battery is not damaged and you still experience problems with the device not powering on, the hard drive may be disconnected. Check the connection of the hard drive. If your hard drive is connected and your problem persists, you may need to install a new hard drive. Consult our guide.
Device is noticeably hot to the touch and/or the performance of the laptop has slowed down.

Sometimes there is a lack of thermal compound on the CPU. This can cause poor heat regulation and can cause overheating. Consider applying more thermal compound between the CPU and the CPU fan.
Device is unresponsive while powered on.
If the device has RAM issues, there may be error messages about lack of memory. Programs might not install correctly which may cause your device to freeze. Replace the RAM using our guide.
If your device still freezes, a rare problem could be a faulty motherboard. Consult our guide on how to replace it.
Device is unable to access internet.
Router if left on for prolonged periods of time, can slow down due to a buildup of tasks. If you experience Wi-Fi issues, consider restarting your router first by unplugging the router from the power source and re-plugging it back in .
If you restart your router and still experience issues connecting to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi module in your device may be faulty. Consult our guide on how to fix it.
There are error messages about memory. The device may also be responding slowly.
There may be too many programs running in the background. Open task manager and check to see the usage of your memory under the “Performance” tab. Then check the “Details” tab to see what programs are using the most memory.
The device may not have enough RAM memory to keep up with your device’s needs. Consider adding more RAM memory to the device or replacing the current RAM memory with larger-sized memory sticks.
The device may have damaged or poorly performing RAM, consult our guide on how to replace it.
The device is crashing, error messages when moving files, lack of access to files, long time accessing files, or even loud noises coming from your hard drive can be signs of hard drive failure.
Check the device’s cables connected to the hard drive. Make sure they are properly plugged in and not loose.
If the hard drive rattles or comes in contact with water or magnets, your hard drive may be damaged and need to be replaced.
