- Insert something thin, such as your fingernail or a credit card, beneath the corner of the key cap (the part of the key that is normally visible).
- Pull up on the key cap until it pops free of the keyboard.

Step 2
- Grip the upper edge of the key pad–the white hinge beneath the key cap of the key–with your flat nose pliers.
- With the edge of the key pad pinched firmly in your pliers, gently pull up with your pliers until the top left and right corners of the key pad pop out of place.
- Still holding the key pad with your pliers, slide the key pad towards the bottom of the key panel until the bottom of the key pad slides out of its hinge.
- Lift the key pad fully from the computer with your pliers.

Lift the key pad fully from the computer with your pliers.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Be sure to read the notes when reassembling the device.
