Introduction

Before using this guide, try turning your laptop off completely and giving it time to charge fully. This will better help you understand whether or not your battery is actually the root of the issue. If your problems persist, this is a good sign it is time for a new battery.

Note that handling batteries can be dangerous, and that you should proceed with care. Do not use excessive force, and keep your batteries away from water. If you notice any damage to a battery, dispose of it promptly.

Step 1

  • Turn off and unplug the laptop.
  • Failure to turn off and unplug the cable could result in electric shock.
  • Place the laptop upside-side-down with the hinges towards you.

Step 2

  • Use your right hand to move the right switch from the locked position to the unlocked position.
  • Use your left hand to move the left switch from the locked position to the unlocked position.

Use your right hand to move the right switch from the locked position to the unlocked position.

Use your left hand to move the left switch from the locked position to the unlocked position.

Step 3

  • While keeping the left switch unlocked, pull the battery away from the computer with your right hand.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
