What you need

Step 1

              Battery               

• Remove the Phillips #0 screws from the back of the laptop.
• Use your hands and an iFixit opening tool to remove the back of the laptop.

• Remove the four Phillips #0 screws from the speakers.
• Move the speakers out of the way.

• Remove the three Phillips #0 screws from the battery.

Remove the three Phillips #0 screws from the battery.

Step 4

• Unplug the wires connecting the battery to the motherboard.
• Remove the battery from the laptop.

Unplug the wires connecting the battery to the motherboard.

Remove the battery from the laptop.

Step 5

              Fan               

• Unscrew the four captive Phillips #0 screws from the heat sink.

Unscrew the four captive Phillips #0 screws from the heat sink.

Step 6

• Detach the wires connecting the fan to the motherboard.

Detach the wires connecting the fan to the motherboard.

Step 7

• Detach the wire from the fan.
• Remove the fan from the laptop.

Detach the wire from the fan.

Remove the fan from the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
