  • Disconnect the spark plug to ensure that the lawn mower does not accidentally turn over and cause the mower to turn on.

  • Flip the mower onto its side exposing the blade and under carriage.

  • Place wood in between the blade and the wall of the mower to ensure that the blade does not move while you are tightening or loosening the bolt.

  • Using the 5/8 wrench, turn the blade counter clockwise until the bolt is loose then pull the blade off.
  • Make sure that safety gloves are worn at all times when handling the new or old cutting blade.

  • Place the new blade in right side up into the bracket and line up the bolt.

Step 6

  • Using the 5/8 ratchet, turn the bolt clockwise until the bolt does not turn anymore.

  • Flip the mower right-side up and reconnect the spark plug.
