              Remove old clip
  • Using wire cutters or heavy duty scissors, break off old tuck clip and remove from fabric.
  • Insert scissors in the space between the strap and the buckle’s first loop and cut through.
  • Next, insert scissors in second loop between the strap and the buckle’s second loop and cut through. (It is easier to cut on the inside edges of the loops than to cut the loops in the center)

I used an exacto knife to pull the original threads of the strap end out so I could remove the clip without cutting the strap. I then threaded the new clip in as shown above, but also folded back the end of the strap to its original sown point, and then used a heavy duty stapler with a 3/8" staple to staple the fold in place. This keeps the strap from coming undone from the clip - same as originally installed.
