  • First, separate the halves by wedging it open with the wedger.

  • Next, carefully remove the display ribbons from the motherboard by using tweezers.

  • Then, remove the battery from the back cover by using the wedging tool.
  • You might have some difficulty removing due to glue holding the battery in place.

  • Now pop off the speakers with the wedger.
  • Remove 3 Philips screws from the motherboard and then remove the motherboard.

  • Lastly, make sure you have removed all of the excess pieces from the back cover.

  • Remove the Speakers by using the Metal Spudger
  • Insert the Metal Spudger between the speakers and the back cover and then lift each speaker out of their compartments

  • Desolder the 4 speaker wires using a soldering station.
  • If you’re unfamiliar with soldering or desoldering check out this guide.
  • Be sure to wear protective eye wear. Also, keep in mind that the soldering iron will become extremely hot.
  • The tool in the picture is not required for this step. It is just being used to point out the wires.
