- Put the camera in any mode other than Auto, and turn off the flash.
- Turn off the LCD screen and press the DISP or DISPLAY button.

Adjust the Camera Setting
- For many canon cameras this will be shutter priority mode, that will give you the longest exposure time without flash.

Open/Close the Battery Door
- After a few seconds open the battery door then close it again. This will momentarily interrupt power during the exposure time.
- Repeat the procedure until the shutter becomes unstuck.
