Step 1

              Knife Blade               
  • Here is the knife we will be replacing the blade on, its a Stanley 10-079 Box Cutter.

  • Using a screwdriver or a coin remove the single screw in the center of the box cutter

  • Carefully pull up on the top half of the cutter exposing the blade on the inside.

  • carefully without cutting yourself lift the old blade out this should require no force.

  • with the old blade out replace it with a new blade from the back or one that was purchased separately.

              Reassembly               
  • With the fresh blade in place carefully place the upper half of the box cutter on the lower half that contains the blade as shown in image number 2.

Step 7

              Final Assembily               
  • insert the screw you first removed back into the hole in the center ensuring that you tighten it down not too tight to get undone without a power tool

  • With the center screw re-installed you are all set to use your Stanley 10-079 box cutter again with a brand new blade.
