Introduction

A healthy battery is essential in a long lasting and smooth operating phone. Replacing the battery will provide a longer battery life and improved efficiency of operating which could improve the phone’s performance.

Before beginning this guide, turn off your phone completely and remove it from any external power source.

What you need

  • Insert the opening pick in the crease between the rear cover and the body of the phone.
  • Pry along the edge to lift and remove the back cover.

Step 2

  • Using the T4 Torx screwdriver, remove five 5 mm screws from the panel above the battery.
  • Remove the panel by grabbing its bottom edge and lifting upwards.

  • Use the opening pick to pry off the battery flex cable.

  • Using the T4 Torx screwdriver, remove two 5 mm screws from the bottom corners of the battery.

Step 5

  • Firmly press the suction cup onto the battery.
  • Pull the battery out using the suction handle.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

For optimal performance, after completing this guide, calibrate your newly installed battery.

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.

Step 1 - The gap is too small to simply use the pick. The suction tool also did not provide a big enough gap to get the pick in. In order to get the pick in I had to heat up the back and use the suction cup in order to get the pick. Then moved the pick around the perimeter to pull of the back. The battery was attached to the back with two glue strips. I unpluged the battery ribbon cable and got the glue off using the two pull tabs that were attached to the glue.

The rest of the steps were non existent in my case. Hope this reply helps
