The Sony Xperia Z1 device will not respond to touch on the screen.
You might notice sometimes the touchscreen will often become unresponsive. Applications can sometimes cause this problem due to software issues. Try closing out of the application and opening it back up.
If the problem still occurs after testing the application, follow these steps in order to check your device to make sure the touchscreen abilities are still applicable.
- Find the Settings Application>Diagnostics>Test Device>Touch Screen. Try drawing a line continuously on the touchscreen for 10 seconds in order to see if it is working properly.
If the problem still occurs after testing the device’s touchscreen in the settings application, try going to the main source by making sure you have the most up to date software.
- Find the Settings Application>About Phone>Software Update. If there is an available download, tap Download to download it to your device. Next, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the software update.
If the problem still occurs please take your device to the nearest Sony Repair Center to resolve the problem.
The Sony Xperia Z1 device is showing signs of abnormally high temperatures throughout the phone.
If you are experiencing an unusual amount of heat coming from the phone try and limit the amount of usage from the phone. After long periods of usage, try letting your phone rest for 15 to 30 minutes to ensure it has cooled down. If you are using a phone case, go ahead and take it off to make the cool down process more efficient.
You will sometimes be prompted by a message saying, ”Camera is temporarily unavailable due to high temperature.” This is sometimes due to excessive use of the phone, camera, or applications. The camera will be temporarily disabled until it has been cooled down. If you are using a phone case, go ahead and take it off to make the cool down process more efficient.
Using applications for a long period of time can result in your device overheating as well. Try and limit the amount of usage from the phone. Although in some occasions, applications can sometimes result in causing the overheating issues within the device. Here is a simple way to check if one of your applications caused the overheating issue.
Boot your device into Safe Mode:
- Hold down the power key until you see a pop up screen.Tap and hold the power off option until you see the screen.Press OK to reboot into safe mode.To confirm you booted into safe mode you will see the text “Safe Mode” in the bottom left corner of the screen.
If the overheating issue still occurs you can now confirm it is one of the applications causing the overheating issue. Try and deleting each application overtime to potentially resolve and find out which application cause the overheating issue.
If the problem still occurs after limiting phone, camera, and application usage, try going to the main source by making sure you have the most up to date software.
If the problem still occurs after updating to the latest software, try a factory reset on your device. Make sure you back up your data first, then try reinstalling your applications to ensure the issue has been resolved.
The Sony Xperia Z1 device is showing signs of yellowing throughout the touchscreen display.
The Sony Xperia Z1 uses the Triluminous display engine which may cause the touchscreen display to have a yellowish tint. Here is a simple way to fix the yellowish tint over the touchscreen display.
- Find the Settings Application>Display>White Balance. Drag the RGB sliders mainly to the left until you reach the desired screen tint on the display.

The Sony Xperia Z1 device is showing signs of inconsistency using the headphone jack.
A simple, yet effective way to make sure the headphone jack works is to clean it out. Start by using an air can and simply spray air into the headphone jack to clean any dust and debris out. If the problem still occurs, go ahead and grab a Q-tip and Isopropyl Alcohol and clean out the inside of the headphone jack.
If the problem still occurs after cleaning out the headphone jack, try checking the headphones you are using on a different device to make sure they are working properly.
If the problem still occurs after checking your headphones, try going to the main source by making sure you have the most up to date audio settings.
- Find the Settings Application> Applications>Smart Connect>Press Clear Data & Restart Phone.
