The phone screen does not display any images and does not respond to touch.
Plug your phone in. The phone should have come with a charger, but any USB-C charger will work. The phone should be at full charge in roughly half-an-hour.
The problem may not be the phone, but the charging cord. Charge another device with your current charger to verify it works. If your cord won’t charge any other devices, your cord needs to be replaced.
Try charging your phone with a different charger. If no cords are able to charge your phone, there may be a problem with your battery. Replace the battery using this guide.
If the screen was recently heavily damaged and refuses to turn on, it needs to be replaced.
The sound is not playing out of the speaker.
Make sure that the sound is turned on within Settings. Go to the Settings app, and click on the Sound & Vibrations option. It should then say whether the sound is on or off. If the sound is off, switch it on.
Sometimes the phone needs to be restarted. Hold down the Power Button to restart the phone. Wait about five minutes before turning the phone back on.
If the phone is still not working, then restore the phone to Factory Setting. This will cause the phone to lose all of its data. Perform a full backup before factory resetting the phone to save any data. Go into the Setting app on the phone and click on Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone. Choose Erase Everything and then confirm to Factory Reset the phone.
If the speaker was recently damaged by water or other forces, it will need to be replaced.
The vibration will not vibrate when the device receives notifications.
You can find the test in Settings > Support > Tests > Vibration.
If the test fails, restart your device in safe mode and retry the test without any loaded downloads because, in this mode, applications are momentarily disabled.
If it is still not working, then simultaneously press and hold down the Volume Up and Power Buttons for six seconds. The device will then vibrate once, then the phone will reboot.
If the vibration motor was recently damaged by water or other forces, it will need to be replaced.
The battery life has been shortened.
To help control the life of the battery, manually control the brightness of the phone. This can be done by dragging down from the top of the screen. Adjust the brightness to dimmer until needed for more brightness.
If the battery continues to drain quickly, then run the phone on Low Power Mode. This will help conserve some of the battery life.
If the battery is still not holding life, then hold down the Power Button and Volume Up Button for six seconds. Leave the phone off for a few minutes before powering back on.
Battery life has declined permanently and needs to be replaced.
The phone’s auxiliary port does not recognize connected headphones.
Blow into the jack or use a can of compressed air to clean it out. Another option is to attempt cleaning out the debris with a cotton swab that has had a few drops of alcohol applied to the end of it.
Plug your headphones into another device and try to listen to music through it. If the headphones continue not to play any audio, the headphones may be faulty and need to be replaced.
If the issue doesn’t appear to be with your headphones, make sure the volume and audio settings on your phone aren’t muted or extremely low by hitting the Volume Buttons.
Hold down the Power Button until the phone turns off or shuts down on its own.
If it doesn’t work, try pressing and holding Power and Volume Down at the same time to shut down the phone. You can push the Power button once more to turn it on after it has completely turned off.
The auxiliary port is damaged past repair might need to be replaced.
