Introduction

The Hard Drive is the data storage device. If you wish to keep all your current setting or data make sure to have them backed up on an external storage device or once the hard drive is removed have it cloned onto the new one.

What you need

  • First remove screws from the plastic cover on the bottom of the device using a Phillips head #1 screw driver.

  • Remove the screws that hold the hard drives metal tray in place. Use a spudger (as seen in the photo) to lift up the hard drive’s metal tray.

Step 3

  • Remove the metal tray and the hard drive which is attached to it.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
