When the screen is on, the image is disrupted by black dots.

Reset computer by turning the computer off and then back on. Check to see if the screen looks clear now. If the screen still is blurry and still has black dots and pixel issues, then attempt to replace the screen - see screen replacement guide for more details on how to replace the screen step by step.

The laptop will lose power unless connected to the charger.

The charging port is on the left hand side of the laptop. You can attempt to replace the charging port if the charging port is broken or rusty - see charing port replacement guide for more details on how to replace the charging port step-by-step. You will have to buy a new charging port and partially take the computer apart in order to successfully replace the charging port.

Sometimes the wire that is used to charge the laptop is faulty and the electrical connections between the wires is lost. Obtain a new charger from your local electronics store to see if the computer charges and holds charge. Make sure the charger is appropriate for your laptop - ask a worker at the electronics store for help if you need to make sure that the charger is appropriate for your device.

The bottom of the laptop is hot to the touch when used.

If you don’t hear the fan blowing as the computer is working and the computer becomes dangerously hot then the fan is most likely broken. Make sure that the grill/vent on the left hand side is not blocked because that is where the fan works. If the grill/vent is not blocked and the computer is still overheating, then replace the fan using the fan replacement guide.

The laptop has a significantly slower load time than it should resulting in the screen freezing, files taking an extended period of time to open, and the inability to run multiple programs simultaneously.

The RAM is hard to get to, so in order to replace it you will need to take apart the bottom of the laptop. Replace/add RAM to computer using the RAM replacement guide that will show step-by-step directions for taking apart the laptop and replacing the broken RAM.

The laptop powers down without notice and when you reboot the laptop it give you an error message saying “Windows detected a hard disk problem”.
