The device is warm or hot to the touch after being on for a relatively short time.

The fan makes noise loud enough to be bothersome.

If the laptop is overheating or the fan is loud, first try cleaning the vents. If this does not solve the problem, open the device to clean the fan from the inside.

A program or all programs are unresponsive.

If it’s possible, pull up the Task Manager using Ctrl-Alt-Del or right-clicking on the taskbar. End the program that is unresponsive.

If pulling up the Task Manager is not an option, you can do a forced reset by holding down the power button or removing the battery.

The device won’t turn off after pushing the power button.

If the device won’t turn on, it could be that the battery is completely drained. Charge the device for at least an hour before attempting to turn it on again.

The device does not charge when connected to the charger.

The charger may not be plugged in the computer and the outlet comppletely. If it is plugged in, check to make sure the outlet is working by testing other appliances.

The issue may be with the charger itself. Try using a different charger with the same kind of port. If the device still isn’t charging, you may need replace the charger port. Replacement guide: Sony Vaio Fit 13A Charger Port Replacement

The screen is physically cracked or graphically distorted.

The keys are sticking or not working.

Pop the keys out carefully and clean underneath. Gently push key back into place.

The laptop is unable to connect to WiFi.

You may have WiFi turned off. Go to your connections page and make sure WiFi is on.

The issue may be with your internal wireless adapter. Reset it through your system’s troubleshooting tools.
