The device may become warm or hot when the product is in use, or it may also make odd humming sounds. These types of problems are usually caused by some issue involving the laptop’s built-in fan.

If this is an issue, first try to clean the vents on the side of the device to insure proper air flow. If this does not improve the the situation it may be necessary to clean the fan itself. This well require you to remove the back cover off of the device.

The thermal paste will dry over the years of using your laptop. You may need a new thermal paste application.

If cleaning the fans and vents and repasting the CPU does not fix the issue, it is likely that the fan is damaged and in need of replacement. Instructions on how to do this can be found here on the web site.

When in use it is possible that programs or search windows will become unresponsive.

In the event of this happening first try to end the program or exit the window by pulling up the Task Manager. This can be done by right-clicking the task bar, or by using Ctrl-Alt-Del. If that does not work, you may have to replace the battery.

If the task bar is unusable, you may have to reset, turn the power off of the device, or remove the battery to solve the issue. If taking the battery out and putting it back in does not resolve the issue, battery replacement may resolve the problem.

In some cases the device may not power on even after multiple attempts.

In some cases it is possible that the product will fail to turn on if the battery has fully lost its charge. If this is the case began to charge the device and allow it to charge before trying to turn it on. The device may take a moment to gather a little charge before it turns on. If it has been over 5 minutes and it is still not turning on, battery replacement may be needed.

If the device does not turn on, and charging the product does not help it is likely that the Battery has gone bad and well need to be replaced. Instructions on how to do this can be found here on the web site.

The screens connection is poor or cracked then it may need to be replaced.

If the screen connection is poor then the screen itself will need to be replaced. The screen can be replaced by removing the laptop cover screws and then taking the screen out. Once this old screen is out, the new one can be placed in its spot and the cover put back on. In addition, the same steps can be followed if the screen is cracked.

The keys are unresponsive or needs to be replaced.

The keyboard may not work if dust or dirt builds up on the keys. This means that the keys may have to be gently removed, cleaned, and then replaced. You can clean the keys with a cloth that has been dipped into isopropyl alcohol.

It is possible the the keys have been damaged and no longer make a connection to the computer. If this is the case, the individual damaged keys or entire keyboard may need need to be replaced.
