The Sony Ericsson z300 is an upgrade of the z200 with smaller dimensions and an internal antenna. It is a basic phone for users who only need to make basic phone calls or texts.

Phone screen stays blank when power button is pressed.
Try charging the phone to make sure the battery has some charge in it.
If the phone is plugged in and not charging, the charging cable may be faulty. If this is the case try borrowing a cable from someone who has the same phone or try buying a new one.
If the battery won’t hold a charge and the charging cable is still good, then the battery is dead and may need to be replaced. This is a common ailment with older rechargeable batteries. Refer to the Sony Ericsson z300 Battery Replacement guide for help with removing the battery.
If the above steps don’t fix your problem the motherboard may need to be replaced. You may want to contact your nearest Cingular/at&t store to fix this problem, otherwise you will need to replace the motherboard yourself. Either the screen has visible cracks in it or the interior of the screen maybe be broken causing the display to appear to be bleeding behind the glass.
If the screen lights up but does not show any detail or has visible cracks in it, the screen may need to be replaced. For help with removing the screen refer to the Sony Ericsson z300 Screens Replacement guide.
While making a phone call the user cannot hear the person on the other end of the line
Make sure that the in call volume is up.
Make sure the headphone jack is clear, as this may cause the phone to think there is a headset plugged in and not transmit any audio to the phone speakers.
The phone may need a basic reset. While the phone is on remove the battery for thirty seconds and then reinsert the battery. This should complete a basic software reset, without loosing any contact information.

Nothing happens when buttons are pressed.
Either the keypad is broken and will need to be replaced or the Motherboard may be bad and need to be replaced. Light won’t turn on when supposed to.
Light stays on even when phone is off.
