The DVD player is not sensing a CD or DVD after it is inserted.

If the DVD player is not registering any DVD or CD after being inserted into the disk drawer, then the DVD reader may be malfunctioning and a new DVD reader needs to be installed.

The DVD player is not responding when the buttons are pressed.

If there is no audible click when the buttons are pressed down, then the mechanism that attaches the buttons to the circuit board may be malfunctioning. You will need to remove the button circuit board and then realign or replace it.

If the lights on the screen are not showing and the DVD player is not responding to the buttons, then there may be an issue with the button circuit board. If so you will need to replace the button circuit board.

If installing a new button circuit board did not work, the processing board may have a problem. Replacing the processing board may solve the problem.

The DVD player is off and cannot be turned on.

If the DVD player will not turn on, then there may be a problem with the power cord. To install a new power chord you must remove the top cover of the DVD player, pinch the power cord’s clip at its base, and pull it out.

If replacing the power cord does not work but the remote still turns the device on, then the button circuit board may be broken. Installing a new button circuit board may correct the problem.

If replacing the power cord does not solve the problem and the remote is unable to turn the device on, there may be a problem with the power supply board. Installing a new power supply board may solve the problem.

The DVD player is reading the DVD/CD, but no sound can be heard and no video can be seen.

If the DVD is playing without sound or video, there may be an issue with the processing board. If so, installing a new processing board may solve the problem.

Even if the processing board is working the audio and visual might not work. If that is the case, there may be an issue with the DVD reader. First, check to see if the reader is blocked by anything. If the area above the reader seems clear, installing a new DVD reader may solve the problem.

The disk drawer does not fully extend.

If the eject disc tray does not open fully, there may be a problem with the eject door. The plastic portion or inner mechanisms may be broken. Either way, Installing a new DVD drive may solve this problem.
