              DVD Laser               
  • Open the DVD reader and remove the 4.3mm Phillips screw.

  • Remove black shield with a plastic spudger.

  • Remove the two 2.8mm Phillips screws pictured.

  • Next remove the underlying silver colored shield with a plastic spudger.

  • With tweezers, gently remove the DVD laser, and expose solder leads.

  • With a solder iron, remove solder leads.

  • Once solder leads are removed, and solder iron has been safely put away, you my know handle and replace DVD laser. Full replacement follows the steps provided in reverse.
