The camera will not power on despite it being charged.
If the camera does not power on it could be because of a battery malfunction. Inspect the battery and ensure it is installed correctly. If the problem persist it could be that the battery is bad and could require replacement. Refer to the replacement guide if battery needs replaced. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W800 Battery Replacement
Check the charger that is being used for the camera for any obvious sings of over heating and a burning odor. If such symptoms are detected the camera’s inability to charge could be from a malfunctioning charger. A dysfunctional charger is a fire hazard and should be recycled or disposed of. If this is the case a replacement charger will be needed.
If the battery is still not charging it could be because of dirt and corrosion on the terminal. It can be cleaned by using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Also, corrosion can be wiped off using white vinegar and a microfiber cloth.
If the issues persist after checking the battery and terminal then the camera may need to be reset to factory settings. To do this take out the battery and hold down the power button for 15 seconds. After that is completed, place the battery back in the camera and turn the power on.
Through wear and tear the buttons on the camera may begin to stick and not function properly.
With frequent use the buttons accumulates dust, dirt, and various dried liquids from handling. This results in the buttons sticking in place and not functioning. Clean the buttons with warm soapy water, cotton swabs and a clean cloth. If this does not work use a small amount of 70% isopropyl alcohol.
If the buttons continue to not function after cleaning and, are no longer sticking in place, the issue may be internal. Perform a factory reset by removing the battery from the camera and hold down the power button for fifteen seconds. Reinsert the battery and turn on the camera. If the buttons continue not to function after this, a replacement of the circuit board may be required. Refer to our replacement guide on how to do it. Battery, debris, and other mechanical parts could be preventing the door from opening or closing. To open, push the door outward with pressure. With enough pressure the door will open. To close, push the door inward while applying pressure. If this does not work, then check to see if there are solid particles under the battery that could be causing the battery to not lock properly. In this case, clean the slot with compressed air.
The spring may be worn out. A new part may be needed. Also, door itself may be broken. A new part may also be needed to fix the door.
If the flash is set to auto, then the flash sensor might be under light, causing the flash to not turn on. Press the button that looks like a lightning bolt to turn the flash on.
Hold down the shutter button half way to focus. After focusing, press it all the way down to take a picture.
There could possibly be fingerprints or other marks on the lens. In this case, clean the lens with a damp microfiber cloth. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, then the lens may be cracked, which may require to purchase a new lens that will need to be compatible with the camera. Refer to the replacement guide for the lens here.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W800 Lens Replacement

Lack of battery energy is a possible reason for the lens to not extend or retract. Charge the battery to ensure it meets the required energy levels for the device to function.
It is possible that dirt, sand, or other particles made their way into the barrel crevices of the device lens. With a canister of compressed air, blow the air into the gaps around the lens barrels to dislodge any particles that may cause obstruction.
